I am from Moscow, Russia where I studied and worked at the University as a physicist. In the mid-90’s I immigrated to Minneapolis, Minnesota with my two sons, and from there moved to the mountains of Juneau, Alaska where we experienced “The Last Frontier”, including the bears. In 2007 I met my future husband and I moved, once again, into the mountains of Washington… just south of the Canadian Border.

I was inspired to paint at an early age by my grandfather Nikolay Kazansky, and even being a physics student I studied classical drawing and art history at The University of Moscow and took numerous art classes at the studio of my uncle, Michael Kazansky, a noted Moscow painter. I also learned about photography from my father, a physicist and amateur photographer.

I am returning to art after raising my sons, and now I consider myself as professional artist and amateur scientist.
